A near-future novel set in Paris as the National Front Party takes power. A young Black American woman intent on preventing the corruption of Artificial Intelligence moves to Paris and is pulled into the maelstrom wrought by climate change, mass immigration, and Russia’s determination to reconstitute its empire. Recruited for undercover work rescuing NATO’s anticorruption AI data before the Russians seize NATO’s AI center in Tallinn, Estonia, her involvement deepens and becomes more dangerous. Meanwhile, how is she to handle the attraction she feels to the heir to Cook Industries, the largest privately owned oil company in the world, who works for the Party? When the Party cracks down on dissenters and immigrants, does the dispersed opposition stand a chance of successful resistance?
