Reginald Jarrell’s forthcoming book (Feb. 1, 2024) tells the story of his search for the birth father his family would tell him little to nothing about. He describes the trauma of adoption secrets even when the adoptive family loves the child dearly and carries readers with him through decades of ambivalent start-and-stop searching until he finds Myron. This is a moving story that will be of interest to general readers and especially helpful for adoptees, adoptive parents, and birth parents. Recommended for book groups, youth groups, church groups, and classrooms.

Jarrell is a lawyer, a Christian pastor, a journalist, and a professor of communications. His 2022 book, 31 Days (Nights): Memoir of Living Black in America, is also published by Blue Cedar Press.
