Dr. Aida Dziho-Sator was a child when the Bosnian war began in 1992. Her poems are lyrical, sometimes funny, often stunning as she writes images of her life during and after the nearly-4 year war that devastated her country and sent so many thousands into other countries for refuge. In April 2024 she gave a reading from her book For Me, the War Begins in an Elevator. This is her second published book of poems, her first in English.
The reading was in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina and was attended by 36 people and the publisher of Blue Cedar Press. Another BCP author, Dr. Gretchen Eick, also read from her latest book, the novel Where is Ana Amara? (an international thriller set in the near future).
